We are a husband-and-wife team based on Waiheke Island, Auckland, New Zealand.

Justin is a qualified landscape architect, holding a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (Honours) from Lincoln University (1996), and has over 25 years of experience in landscape design, project management, and implementation. His portfolio includes award-winning projects in the Middle East and Asia, consulting for governments, developers, and private clients in various capacities.

Tess is a certified horticulturalist and a qualified naturopath with a passion for culinary gardens, productive flower gardens, and environmentally sensitive landscapes. Tess also handles accounts and finance.

Our approach is to offer clear guidance and tailored options to suit your project needs. Depending on the scale of work required, we can assist with both implementation and management.

At Cultivate Studio, our mission is to enhance gardens and landscapes in a way that is attuned to the client’s vision, the environment, and the historical context of the site.
